Everything about Cleveland seems rejuvenated these days. The lake and the river have been cleaned up, new buildings have altered the skyline, and the Flats -- the industrial area along the Cuyahoga River -- is booming with restaurants and nightclubs. Earlier in the decade the city and county built Gateway, the collective name for a new arena and baseball stadium just south of downtown. The city's bicentennial celebration in 1996 brought even more changes, including a new science museum that took its place beside the celebrated Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, which opened in 1995- welcome additions to a city already boasting a world-class orchestra and a stunning art museum.
