LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) ? Since Mitt Romney selected Paul Ryan as his running mate, the presidential campaign has focused on Ryans positions on Medicare and government spending.
But President Obama and Democrats are also highlighting his staunch stance against abortion.
Obamas campaign has knocked Ryan on abortion rights in emails, television advertising and a banner flying above one of his events. They argue that the Republican ticket is hostile to women.
Romneys campaign says its an attempt to distract from Obamas economic record.
The National Right to Life Committee gives Ryan a perfect voting rating for his 14 years in Congress. Ryan says hes "as pro-life as a person gets."
Romney previously supported abortion rights but has opposed them since 2005, except in the case of rape, incest or danger to the mothers life.
