Romney faces Latino group amid immigration debate

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) ? Mitt Romney says he will pursue a long-term solution to the nations immigration system that is better than what he refers to as President Barack Obamas "stop-gap measure."

Romney was prepared Thursday to tell a Hispanic audience that he would address illegal immigration "in a civil but resolute manner" and will keep his promises to the key demographic. Romney is set to speak to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Obama will speak to the same group Friday.

In remarks prepared for delivery, Romney says he would work to keep families of immigrants together and would work to keep highly educated immigrants in the country. He also says dealing with the nations immigration system is both a moral and economic requirement.
